On February 16, 2026, actor Vijay Sethupathi, Tamil filmmaker Thiagarajan Kumararaja and a couple other well known celebs took to social media and announced their new project – Pocket Novel. This project marks a significant return for a filmmaker who is known for his incredible vision and long gaps between films. And now Bollywood Bubble has some EXCLUSIVE information with regards to the film’s production.

Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan’s Pocket Novel Schedule 2 To Go On Floors Next Month

As per our sources, Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan are all set to begin the second schedule of Pocket Novel next month. The insider close to the development tells us, “Malavika and Vijay are all set to begin the second schedule of Pocket Novel in Chennai in May, and this leg is expected to reveal a completely new layer to the story.”

In February, the makers and crew took to social media and announced the film along with its first poster.

About Pocket Novel

Pocket Novel is directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja and stars Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles. The multi-lingual film also star Raj B Shetty and Kishore. Announced in February 2026, the film is produced by Tyler Durden. The crime novel inspired film marks Kumararaja’s return to feature film direction after seven long years. It’s music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja, with cinematography by Nirav Shah, editing by Sathyaraj Natarajan, and lyrics by Yugabharathi. The film is being produced in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, with a tentative release planned for the end of 2026.
