Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani mukerji and Kajol is one of the most loved films for multiple reasons. The Karan Johar directorial has love, friendship, and romance. While Shah Rukh Khan won hearts as Rahul Khanna, Kajol as Anjali Sharma was an absolute treat, and Rani played Tina Malhotra beautifully. Saif Ali Khan and Chandrachur Singh were offered the role of Aman Mehra:

Before Salman Khan, Karan had offered the role of Aman Mehra to Saif Ali Khan and Chandrachur Singh but they turned it down. During a chat with fashion designer Prabal Gurung for Gold House NGO, KJo had revealed, “After Chandrachur Singh and Saif Ali Khan said no, I was very depressed. One day, I was at Chunky Panday’s house for a party and Salman came up to me and said, ‘I heard you have been shopping’. He said you need to be really confident to do that part and asked me to come and narrate it to him the next day.” The rest is history!

Twinkle Khanna was offered the role of Tina:

It is well-known that KJo and Twinkle share a close bond. The filmmaker wrote Tina’s role keeping Twinkle in mind. She was offered the role but turned it down. At an event, Twinkle had said, “To be honest, I initially had no regrets that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has gone out of my hands. Wasn’t sad. However, now when I watch the videos of all the awards that the film won after it became a blockbuster. I feel regret. Both of us were sitting on the terrace and Karan was narrating his story, crying a lot while narrating it. Karan appeared to be deeply involved in his narrative. But due to sudden reasons, I was not able to do the film.”

Aditya Chopra recommended Rani Mukerji to Karan Johar:

Karan recently revealed that it was Aditya who recommended Rani for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The filmmaker said, “I am grateful that Rani agreed to do the film. Prior to her, I got several reality checks before I went to Rani. Ironically it was her husband (Aditya Chopra) who recommended her to me back then and said that she’s going to be a movie star. You should see her.”

Rani’s voice:

KJo wanted Rani’s voice dubbed in the film due to her husky voice, not knowing it would become her trademark.

Kajol lost her memory on KKHH sets:

Kajol had an accident while cycling with Shah Rukh Khan for the song Yeh Ladka Hai Deewana. While filming the song, Kajol lost her balance and fell off the cycle. She was hurt badly and even lost her memory. The actress only remembered one person and i.e. her husband Ajay Devgn.

Shah Rukh Khan didn’t like the costumes of his character:

SRK as Rahul won hearts. SRK’s character Rahul’s fashion sense grabbed a lot of attention back then. However, SRK didn’t like ‘tight costumes’ his character wore in KKHH. The actor had revealed, “The most embarrassing moment for me in the movie is the costumes I’ve been made to wear, when I’m playing the young guy, I think my jeans, T-shirts everything is way too tight. I’m supposed to play the college stud in my youth. I have to say and walk and talk and do certain things which I’m embarrassed to do.”

Tum Paas Aaye song tune created by Jugal Hansraj:

Jugal Hansraj composed the tune of the song Tum Paas Aaye. In an Instagram post, he had revealed, “People always ask if it’s true that I composed the melody of the ‘mukhda’ of the title track of KKHH. Yes indeed, I did compose the melody! I’m very happy that my tune is remembered so fondly by so many people.”
