Actor Amitabh Bachchan is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. The actor who has been ruling Hindi Cinema for more than five decades has given blockbuster films like Sholay, Anand, Chupke Chupke, Naseeb, Kala Pathar, Satte Pe Satta, Silsila, Mr Natwarlal, Coolie and many more. The magnitude and the charm of Big B are unmatchable. His good looks, impeccable acting skills, his height and his baritone voice became the talk of the town and that’s what makes his stand out from the crowd. Despite being in the industry for decades, there are some things about his filmy journey which is pretty unknown to many. 

Well, without further ado, as Senior Bachchan is celebrating his 79th birthday today, on October 11, we have decided to share some interesting anecdotes of his life that were shared by him on his Instagram account. Let’s take a look.

1. Amitabh Bachchan revealed his first film with his wife and actor Jaya Bachchan. It was Bansi and Birju that was released 49 years ago.

2. He even shared his look test for the film ‘Reshma aur Shera in 1969 where he even got selected for the part.

3. The actor had shared a picture from his ‘first LIVE performance’ in 1983. He captioned with, “That sign board at the back is Madison Square Garden New York .. the first ever Indian performer at this most prestigious World Stadium”

4. Sharing a still from his film Chupke Chupke, he revealed that the film completed 46 years while the house that they shot has become their home, Jalsa. He wrote, “This house you see in the picture is Producer NC Sippy’s house .. we bought it, then sold it, then bought it back again .. rebuilt it .. this is our home now JALSA!! Many films were shot here .. Anand, NamakHaram, Chupke Chupke, Satte pe Satta, and many more.

5. Sharing an interesting view regarding the films back in the 70s and now in 2020, Big B wrote, “The 1970’ S .. and the years when films did 50 weeks and 100 weeks .. and 6-7 Of them being released in the same year .. DON , KASME VAADE, TRISHUL, MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR, GANGA KI SAUGANDH etc and all doing more than 50 weeks .. now OTT millions make success graphs.”

6. The time when he revealed his first song ‘Mere Paas Aao’ that he sang for film, Mr Natwarlal. Sharing an old picture of him rehearsing in the studio, Bachchan wrote, “Music rehearsal with Rajesh Roshan, Music Director .. AND .. all this being overseen by one ‘palti maar ke ‘little one sitting on the bench … a certain HRITHIK ROSHAN”

7. Amitabh revealed a back story on why he donned the black leather overall in Ganga Jamuna Saraswati. He wrote, “when Manmohan Desai thought that I could replicate MJ in our film Ganga Jamuna Saraswati .. What a failure I was!

8. Amitabh revealed an interesting anecdote regarding a scene Naseeb. He mentioned how he shot the film without any VFX or CGI. He wrote, “In the matador and the gun .. film NASEEB .. climax on a rotating Resturant .. a set built at Chandivali Studio .. and it rotated .. so action scenes , drama , Resturant on fire ,all .. done while it rotated ..  Only the great Manmohan Desai could conceive all this .. and succeed .. and we’re talking the 80’s .. no VFX no CG nothing ..  those were the days my friend”
