Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani have left us wanting more since the trailer dropped. The makers have now released the fourth song of the film Dhindhora Baje Re and every bit of the song exudes grandeur. This song stands unique from all the other songs that were released before Dhindhora Baje re. While the other songs showcased the duo’s chemistry, love angle and innumerable emotions, Dhindhora Baje Re is the first time when we see Ranveer and Alia as Rocky And Rani going up against the family to fight for their love.

1) The lyrics just call on for a challenge

In the RARKPK trailer, glimpses of Rocky’s family expressing disapproval of his relationship with Rani were evident. However, in this particular song, the couple appears determined to embrace the blessings of Goddess Durga and overcome all obstacles to make their love triumph. The lyrics fearlessly convey their defiance against the world and people that seek to separate them. While Rani’s parents seem accepting and joyful, the disapproving frowns of Rocky’s family underscore their reluctance to accept the union of the couple.

2) The eye-to-eye tashan

By this point in the film, it is clear that Jaya Bachchan, portraying Rocky’s grandmother, is unwilling to accept his relationship with Rani. However, it appears that Rocky and Rani have reached their breaking point with her opposition. In the song Dhindhora Baja Re, we witness a rebellious transformation in Rocky and Rani, as they vow to stand strong through the adversities. Their intense gazes convey an unwavering commitment, declaring that they will not part ways, regardless of the challenges they face. On the other hand, the grandmother’s displeasure is evident as they finally assert themselves and stand up for their love.

3) The director’s eye to portray the rebellion

Director Karan Johar masterfully communicates his message through the artistry of his frames and concepts, and his latest work is no exception. Set against the backdrop of Durga Puja, he employs the colour red as a significant theme. Beyond symbolizing love, red also represents intense passion. This choice portrays the unwavering determination of Rocky and Rani to defy all odds for their love.

Both Rocky and Rani, along with the supporting characters, don red attire, reinforcing their allegiance to their love. Contrasting to this, Rocky’s father dons a darker shade, while his grandmother is clad in blue. This thoughtful use of colour symbolism effectively conveys the division between those who support their love (clad in red) and those who don’t (wearing different colours). The visual contrast allows the core message to stand out brilliantly.

With these observations made, I wonder what’s more in store for us. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is slated to release in theatres on 28 July 2023.
