Not only Sonali but these B-town celebs suffered from Cancer too

Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan left his fans in a state of shock when he confirmed that he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor.  Four months later, actress Sonali Bendre too informed her fans about her condition. She’s being treated in New York for a ‘high-grade’ metastised cancer.

Here we bring some more Bollywood celebrities who were diagnosed with cancer but came out winners.

Writer-director Anurag Basu was given just two months by the doctors to live. It was in 2004 that he was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia – a type of blood cancer. The ‘Jagga Jasoos’ director fought the disease like a warrior and came out as a winner.

The Canadian-born actress cum model Lisa Ray was seen in films like ‘Hanste Khelte’, ‘Kasoor’, ‘Water’, ‘Bollywood Hollywood’. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2009, which she battled bravely and came out victorious.

The South star who has worked in Bollywood films like ‘Trimurti’, ‘Aadmi’, ‘God And Gun’, too struggled with breast cancer. She is at present free from the disease and now shares her experience with others, She also participates in Cancer-related awareness programmes.

Nargis Dutt was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and went to New York for treatment. The actress fought the disease but soon succumbed to it. She was not able to attend the premiere of her son Sanjay Dutt’s debut film ‘Rocky’

Yesteryear’s popular actress Mumtaz was diagnosed with a malignant lump in her breasts in early 2000. Despite having breast cancer she decided to fight and undergo several chemo sessions. She fought death and was free of cancer.

Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kites’ co-star actress Barbara Mori is also a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with the dreaded disease much before her Bollywood debut. The actress fought the disease and is at present cancer free.

The ‘Dil Se’ fame actress, Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after she fell unconscious in 2012 and later was admitted in a city hospital. She underwent surgery in the following month and battled the ailment coming out a winner. At present, she is basking in the glory of her recent release ‘Sanju’, where she has depicted the role of Nargis Dutt.
