Abhishek Bachchan JP Dutta

2017 is going to be a busy year for Abhishek Bachchan, as he has been signed by a number of filmmakers. Among them, one was for a comedy film produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The film, which also features Irrfan Khan, would revolve around a road-trip. However, Abhishek has reportedly stepped out of the project. This can be credited to JP Dutta’s upcoming war drama ‘Paltan’ which also has him playing a pivotal role.

“The film was to roll in January 2018 because Irrfan is busy shooting for his next Hollywood film. Given that the film follows a group of men on a road trip, it relies on the camaraderie between the actors. Irrfan and Abhishek hit it off well when they met. But, last week, it was conveyed to us that Abhishek has pulled out of the film since the schedule, and the time he had to put in to prepare for the film, was clashing with the schedule of JP Dutta’s ‘Paltan’, ” a source close to the development told Mid-Day. Abhishek started off with his Bollywood career with JP Dutta’s ‘Refugee’, which also marked the debut of Kareena Kapoor Khan. There was no way he would turn Dutta down, and therefore, decided to say no to Ronnie Screwvala.

Rumouredly, Ayushmann Khurrana is being considered for the role now. However, nothing is confirmed yet.
