Ponniyin Selvan: Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi first look posters from Mani Ratnam film unveiled

Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most awaited movies. The makers of the period drama are gearing for its massive audio and trailer launch event. Ahead of the event they are unveiling the character posters of the eminent cast members. On September 3 the have shared the first look of actresses Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi.

The Made In Heaven actress has been roped in to play Vanathi in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan. She looks breathtaking in this latest ethnic royal avatar.

Sharing her first look on Instagram she wrote, “Quick witted, courteous and so much more than what meets the eye!Presenting @sobhitad as Vanathi!

Aishwarya took to Instagram and shared her first look as Poonguzhali, the free-spirited boat woman from Kodikkarai. She falls hopelessly in love with Prince Arumozhi Varman aka Ponniyin Selvan.

The makers have also shared the first look for Prakash Raj as Sundara Chozhar, Jayachitra as Sembiyan Maadevi, and Rahman as Madhurantakan in the venture.

Ponniyan Selvan is based on the fictional novel of the same name written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The book follows the life of Rajaraja Chola I of the Chola dynasty.

The movie also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini, Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Trisha as Kundavai, and Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman.
