Tamil actor-comedian V Kalidass passes away in Chennai

As per the latest reports, actor-comedian V Kalidass passed away yesterday i.e. August 12. The cause of his death is yet to be known. His sudden death has sent shockwaves in the film industry. Many are taking to social media sites to mourn his passing. For the unversed, he is survived by his two children, Vijay and Bhargavi while his wife Vasantha passed away.

Talking about the actor, his comedy acts in the movie Jananam and Vadivedu are still popular among his fans. Many do not know that he was also a dubbing artiste and is popular for his serial Marmadesam. He also voiced several villainous characters in the 80s and has dubbed for over 3000 movies over the years. His last movie was KGF 2 dubbing and it was for the same role that he did in KGF 1. Aside from dubbing and comedy roles, he also featured as a villain in several movies. His character in the serial Soolam which aired on Sun Tv is one of his popular roles.

Many fans are mourning his death. One of his fans wrote,” He was my childhood superhero, his serial as SuperHero Mayavi Mari Chan was my favorite. May his soul RIP.” Another fan wrote, “Great Actor. Saw his Acting in Serials. May his soul rest in peace.”

It is quite noticeable that this year, many actors and stalwarts from the Tamil film industry lost their lives. A majority of the deaths happened due to COVID 19 pandemic while some have departed due to natural causes. Speaking of Tamil actors and artistes who passed away this year, Tamil actor-comedian Vivekh breathed his last on April 17 after suffering a heart attack. Tamil film producer, writer, and actor Venkat Subha recently passed away due to covid complications. Indra Kumar died by suicide while veteran actor Pandu passed away due to covid. Recently we reported about singer Kalyani Menon’s passing too.
