When Harry Styles broke gender stereotypes with his unusual outfits

Harry Styles is one of the most celebrated singers. Even as part of the most successful band One Direction, the singer stood out for his fashion choices which were unusual to most people. From sporting long unruly hair, floral prints to scarves, Harry Styles would always make a statement even as a band member. But, once One Direction stopped all activities in 2016, Harry took on a solo career as a musician but it is no secret that this journey also went on in fashion.

The Kiwi singer made headlines for his fashion choices, but at the same time, he was breaking major gender stereotypes with those fashion choices alone. It is was not easy as Harry got a lot of backlash as well for dressing ‘like a girl’, being extra feminine to the point where his sexuality was in question. But the Dunkirk actor still went don’t o only impress with what is called ‘gender fluid’ outfits. Harry Styles rang in his 27th birthday today and he is being swarmed with love and birthday wishes. So today lets look at some of the unusual outfits by Harry Styles that broke gender stereotypes.

Frills and peep plum waists are an absolute rare case to be seen in men’s fashion just like the one Harry has worn below. In this outfit, Harry was seen wearing a light blue custom ensemble from Palomo Spain. The jacket was pleated at the waist, which is a common occurrence in women’s fashion. The top was paired with a machine-pleated blouse and wide-leg pants.

Harry’s Halloween costume for the Harryween concert was an eye-catcher for sure. Again, the actor did leave everyone stunned as he came dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz. He was in a custom Dorothy costume by Gucci which was a blue gingham dress patterned with little cherries and sequined strawberries, a white-collar, ruching and silver toggle buttons down the chest. Paired with it was white lace-trimmed bloomer shorts and red open-knit cabled tights.

Next on the list is Harry Styles in a Pink Swan Ballerina Tutu which he had worn for the Saturday Night Live bumper. The actor paired it with pink tights and was seen holding a champagne glass and a cigar in his mouth.

Again, making groundbreaking changes in men’s fashion was Harry’s appearance on Gucci Beloved. He was dressed in top to bottom in Gucci, but what caught everyone’ eye was the handbag he carried. It was a black Jackie 1961 bag with a long strap attached.

Next would be the Golden singer’s Met Gala 2019 look which made heads turn for sure on the carpet. The look was designed by Gucci creative director, Alessandro Michele. Styles was seen in a see-through black shirt with a lace bib, cuffs and a high tie-neck. It was paired with ultra-high-waisted black pants and leather boots which sure did have some serious height on them.
