The Met Gala is finally happening after skipping last year due to the pandemic. This year the Costume Institute has announced a two-part Met Gala for 2021 and 2022. As per reports, the exhibition this year will be called In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, and will open on 18 September. All the attendees will have to provide proof of their vaccination as per a report by The Daily Beast Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Met revealed, “Currently, all attendees at The Met Gala on September 13 must provide proof of full vaccination and will also be expected to wear masks indoors except when eating or drinking. We will update these guidelines as needed.” Reports also said that tickets to the invite-only event are already sold out. For the unversed, the tickets to the invite cost $30,000 and tables going for $275,000.

Talking about the celebs who are said to grace the red carpet at the Met Gala 2021, as per a report by Page Six, Jennifer Lopez is planning to grace the Met Gala red carpet. Apart from that the report also said that; Rihanna, who had made quite an appearance with her yellow gown by Guo Pei will also set the red carpet of fire. Apart from Riri, we will also be seeing actress Lupita Nyong’o. Also making to the list is, model Emily Ratajkowski and Cinderella star Camila Cabello. As per the buzz, other celebs reportedly gracing the Met carpet will be Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Lorde, Rosalia, Venus Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Addison Rae.

Hosting the Met Gala 2021 will be actor Timothée Chalamet and he will co-host the event along with Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman, and Naomi Osaka along with honorary chairs Tom Ford, Adam Mosseri, and Anna Wintour.

Skipping the Met Gala 2021 will be Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker as well as her BFF, Andy Cohen. Andy told Access Hollywood, “I’m taking a year off, My date is filming this year. She’s filming ‘And Just Like That…'” Also, it is said that since Ben Affleck is filming for two movies this year, he will be skipping the Met.
