Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Pleads NOT Guilty In Expanded Criminal Charges; Rapper’s Lawyers Accused Of Delaying Trial

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs pled not guilty and is facing two additional criminal charges. This brings the total against him to five, including previously filed sex trafficking and racketeering charges. This development comes just weeks before his trial is scheduled to begin, where he has consistently denied all allegations.

Sean Diddy Combs Pleads NOT Guilty

On Monday, Diddy appeared in court before US District Judge Arun Subramanian in Manhattan, New York, dressed in tan prison attire, with grey hair and a goatee. He appeared notably more subdued than in past hearings. Upholding his firm stance of not guilty, Sean Diddy Comb’s legal team, led by attorneys March Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, requested a two-week delay for the trial, citing a lack of critical evidence provided by the prosecution. They indicated they would not seek a postponement if they received the necessary materials promptly.

Assistant US Attorney Christie Slavik opposed any delays, accusing Diddy’s lawyers of employing “gamesmanship” to postpone the trial. Judge Subramanian advised the defense, “We are on a freight train speeding towards trial. If you want an adjournment, you need to make that application within the next forty-eight hours.” The court is scheduled to reconvene for another hearing on Friday.

The new charges allege that Diddy engaged in recruiting, transporting, and coercing a victim into sexual acts and prostitution from 2021 to 2024. In response, his legal team has denied the allegations. They asserted that these claims stem from consensual relationships with former long-term girlfriends. “These are not new allegations or new accusers. This was their private sex life, defined by consent, not coercion,” they stated to CBS News. Diddy is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn. His criminal trial set to commence on May 5.
