Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming movie ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal‘ was in a controversy which erupted after CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani took objection against the usage of the word ‘intercourse’ uttered by Anushka Sharma’s character Sejal in one of the mini trails that was released online. In fact, the matter went to such an extent that he threw an open challenge that if more than a lakh people vote in favour of the word ‘intercourse’, he would clear it both in the film and in the mini trail. And, he lost out on it because people voted in favour of the word in large numbers, which took the count to more than a lakh. However, Mr Nihalani later denied to accept his failure openly by saying that by votes he meant the ones on television and other more accessible means, and not on social media. However, now all that’s a thing of the past because the CBFC has finally given a go ahead to the movie with the word intact. Well yes, the movie has got a U/A certificate. A source close to a daily stated, “The CBFC viewed ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and certified the film ‘U/A’ without a single verbal or visual cut.”

After this amazing piece of news, at the trailer launch event today, director Imtiaz Ali was asked about the movie getting a U/A certificate. He expressed his relief by saying, “We have got a U/A certificate as you are saying in the film. And, they did not ask for any such deletion from the movie. There were some audio changes, there was no visual cut, no video cut, there were some very minor things. So it’s all okay and we are very happy with the certification.”

Finally, all’s well that ends well. As for the movie which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, it will be releasing in theatres on August 4, 2017.
