The final countdown to Ganeshotsav is on. But ahead of the festive season here is a gift for the devotees from megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Yes, Big B has rendered the Siddhivinayak Aarti on the request of the temple authorities. The actor has recorded it at the late Aadesh Shrivastava’s studio recently and was assisted by music director duo Rohan-Vinayak.

Amitabh Bachchan confirming the news said, “The Siddhivinayak temple authorities requested me to sing it. I will also be going ahead with a CD recording to formally make my offering at the temple. Siddhivinayak is a revered Ganpati temple and since long, they wanted me to render the aarti, which I have finally done. The music is theirs, but the composition and rendering is mine.”

He further added, “Whether they play it during aarti time is the temple authorities’ call, but it will be available on the Internet and CDs. Shoojit Sircar will direct the video. We will film just a bit of it at the temple since it might not be possible to shoot there for long.”

Speaking about the Ganesh Aarti in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice resonating in the temple, the authorities affirmed that though Amitabh Bachchan has recorded the aarti but within the temple, they will continue with the usual practice of a live aarti being performed.

On the professional front, Big B will be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s thriller ‘Pink’ that also stars ‘Baby’ actress Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi in prominent roles. The film that is being directed by renowned Bengali director Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary will release on September 16, 2016.
