Throwback to when Hina Khan gave a befitting reply to trolls after her Cannes appearance

Cannes is one of the most royal events for the celebration of global cinema. Many actors and actresses have graced the red carpet over the years for various reasons. Hina Khan is one of them. She walked on the Cannes red carpet in 2019 for her film, Lines

In light of this here is a throwback to when she debuted on the red carpet…

Hina Khan is one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry. She shot to fame with her TV show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She also participated in reality shows such as Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss. Hina was a part of various hit shows and starred in the film, Lines. It was the story of partition around the time of the post-Kargil war. Hina made her red carpet debut at the screening of the Brazilian film Bacurau. 

For the red carpet event, Hina was wearing a grey Ziad Nakad gown with dramatic sleeves and embellishments.  At the event, she also unveiled the Lines movie poster. 

One of the senior journalists made a comment about her appearance and said, “Has Cannes become Chandivali Studios?” This comment received severe backlash from people all across the TV fraternity as well some Bollywood celebrities too commented on it. 

Actors like Nakuul Mehta, Karanvir Bohra, Arjun Bijlania and producer Ekta Kapoor spoke in support of Hina. 

Hina responded on the topic much later. In a conversation in a media house, the Wish List  actress said, “Coming from somebody sitting at such a huge position, it was disheartening. I did feel bad, I won’t deny it. I did feel that it was not necessary. It felt bad not just for myself that I have put in a lot of effort but for the person as well that it was not required. You are what you are. You don’t need it.”

Cannes 2023…

Cannes Film Festival started on May 16, 2023 and will go on till May 27, 2023. This year a lot of people from the Indian film fraternity will be making an appearance. We have seen Sara Ali Khan, Manushi Chhillar and Esha Gupta among others on the first day. 

 Hina Khan will be next seen in the web series Seven One.
