Recently, we stumbled upon an old interview of Anushka Sharma where the actress revealed an interesting incident. Anushka revealed when she got to know that her mother Ashima Sharma always wanted her to be an actress.

It was during Anushka’s conversation on show ‘India’s Most Desirable’ when after listening to her mother Ashima Sharma’s message that had been recorded for her, the actress asked host Simi Garewal if she can say something about her mum. And then the actress went on to share this incident from the time when she had got the news of been signed on for ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. (Also Read: Did you know? Little Abhishek Bachchan found his mother’s films very depressing)

She said, “There was this one time I was driving back from Yash Raj Studios and I got the news, Adi (Aditya Chopra) told me. And I was driving back and I couldn’t drive anymore because I was crying. I was so happy.. I was crying. So I stopped… I stopped the car and I pulled over and I called my mother and I told her that I got this film. And you know what my mum told me? There’s this turtle that used to be there in my living room. It was I think some Feng Shui thing. You just open the turtle and you put something like a wish inside that turtle and you shut it. And when your wish comes true you take it out. So she never never told me about this. But then she came down after she heard that I have got the film she opened that and showed it to me. She’d written it there ‘I hope my daughter stars in a Yash Raj film’. I swear… it’s unbelievable. So I think somewhere she always wanted me to be an actress.”

Upon hearing this, Simi reacted, “What are you saying?” Anushka added, “She said that she’d written this long ago, one thing for my brother and one thing for me.” Simi immediately asked if what was written for her brother came true as well, to which, Anushka nodded her head in agreement. And then when Simi asked Anushka if she (Simi) could write something in this magical, wish-fulfilling turtle, Anushka smiled and said, “You have to meet my mom right (smiles) she has some direct contact with God.”

Indeed, every parent wishes the best for his/her children and this incident is something that showcases this perfectly. Unbelievable, unforgettable, and totally lovable.

When Amitabh Bachchan felt that the sets of 'Khuda Gawah' are like a battlefield

You’ll fall short of words if you try to describe Amitabh Bachchan. There are countless admirers out there who grew up watching his movies. Be it his dialogues, fight scenes or songs, everything has left a lasting impact on his admirers. Big B is loved wherever he goes and recently we stumbled upon an old interview of the megastar where he relived memories of his visit to a country where he was provided with half of the country’s Air Force, just for his security. In fact, such was the magnitude of his security, that he felt that the sets were almost a battlefield. This location was Afghanistan where the megastar had shot for his cult movie ‘Khuda Gawah’ (1992).

The then President of Afghanistan, late Najibullah Ahmadzai was a huge fan of the megastar and Hindi cinema. As Big B was arriving to shoot, Najibullah had ensured maximum security for him and the crew in the country. Amitabh Bachchan had mentioned about it in an old interview given to PTI where he recalled the time when he was shooting for this film in the country. He said, “When we were discussing the script of ‘Khuda Gawah’, I said let us go to Afghanistan to shoot. We went to Mazar-e-Sharif to shoot the traditional Afghan sport of Buzkashi.” (Also Read: When Amitabh Bachchan continued shooting, even after getting injured)

“The president provided us excellent security when the shooting was on. Fighter planes were keeping vigil in the sky and Army tanks were at the side of the sets. It just felt like battlefield,” added the megastar.

Indeed, we should say that this incident truly shows why Big B can be called a phenomenon in himself.

Not many are aware that the actress had shot for a song in late 80’s with a high fever of 103 degrees. And it was not that easy at all as this song was a rain dance number. It is the much popular track ‘Na jaane kahan se aayi hai’ from movie ‘ChaalBaaz’ (1989). (Also Check: ‘Mom’ first look: Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh and others can’t wait to see Sridevi’s film)

If facts are to be believed, the song was scheduled for a two-day shoot, and was choreographed by Saroj Khan. After wrapping up the first day’s work, Sridevi was down with high fever. But, the next day the actress reported on sets without fail and said that she will shoot for the song, though the makers were ready to cancel it owing to her ill health.

But, the actress gave her best shot and completed the song that day itself with a fever of 103 degrees. Everyone applauded Sridevi’s passion and dedication towards her work.

‘ChaalBaaz’ was released in year 1989 and was declared a super success at the box office. Talking about the song ‘Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’, it is still considered to one of the best rain songs in Bollywood.

Sridevi was honoured with the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her brilliant dual role performance in this film, whereas Saroj Khan won the award for Best Choreography for the same rain song ‘Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’.

Changes the way you will look at the song now, doesn’t it? In no way could we have figured out that Sridevi was ill, looking at her energetic moves in the number.

Such was the life of this brilliant performer, cut short by fate. How we wish we could have seen her more on screen.
