Jr NTR To Play ‘Father of Indian Cinema’ Dadasaheb Phalke In Made In India – Report

The announcement trailer for Made In India, a movie based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, dubbed the Father of Indian Cinema, was unveiled in September 2023 by director SS Rajamouli. The movie, which is slated for a Pan-India release, is being produced by Varun Gupta of Max Studios and SS Karthikeya of Showing Business. Rajamouli, Karthikeya, and Gupta have been diligently working on the script since the announcement, and they have now completed a draft.

Jr NTR To Star In SS Rajamouli’s Biopic Made In India

The team recently narrated the script to actor Jr NTR, who was deeply impressed by the story and has given his verbal approval to join the project. “Jr NTR was amazed by the untold stories about Dadasaheb Phalke and the early days of Indian cinema. He is excited to portray such an iconic personality on screen,” as per Pinkvilla sources.

Although Jr NTR has agreed in principle, the official paperwork and final formalities are yet to be completed. The source added, “Jr NTR has great respect for SS Rajamouli, as well as for his son SS Karthikeya and producer Varun Gupta. After hearing the script, he had an in-depth discussion with the team about the screenplay and direction.”

Jr NTR is currently is busy shooting for his film with director Prashanth Neel. After that, he will begin work on a film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Made In India is expected to be a refreshing change for Jr NTR, as it moves away from his usual action roles and explores a historic and emotional journey.
