‘Bigg Boss 14′ is one of the most-watched shows on Television. On Tuesday’s episode, Jaan Kuma Sanu had a spat with Nikki Tamboli for speaking with Rahul Vaidya in Marathi. Jaan goes on to say that it irks him when they talk in Marathi.

Following Jaan’s comment on Marathi language, Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have raised objection over his comments. They demanded an apology from Jaan and the channel and have also threatened to stop the shooting of the show if they failed to apologise within 24 hours.

According to a Hindustan Times report, MNS film workers’ union chief Ameya Khopkar said, “We will not allow the shooting of Bigg Boss to take place if both of them don’t apologise within 24 hours. We will see how Jaan gets work in Mumbai. Anyone who hates the Marathi language should get out of Maharashtra.”

Shiv Sena leaders Aadesh Bandekar and Yuva Sena leader Rahul Kanal took to Twitter to express their displeasure over Jaan’s comment.

Following the uproar caused by Jaan’s comments, Colors issued an apology. In their letter addressed to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the channel wrote, “We have received objections regarding the reference to Marathi language during the episode broadcasted on 27th October 2020 on Colors channel. We have taken note of these objections and have taken corrective measures of removing the said part from all future broadcasts of the episode.”

Apologising for hurting sentiments of people of Maharashtra the channel further wrote, “We hereby apologise if we have inadvertently hurt the feelings of the people of Maharashtra due to the broadcast of the said comment in relation to Marathi language. We value the audience and the patronage of the Marathi speaking audience and respect all languages of India in the same manner.”

Jaan is veteran singer Kumar Sanu’s son. On the show, Jaan recently also had a spat with Rahul Vaidya after he called him a product of nepotism.
