Karan Wahi is one of the popular actors in the industry. Karan began his television career with the TV show Remix. He gained immense popularity for his performance as Dr. Siddhant Modi in the show Dill Mill Gayye. Karan has many TV shows to his credits. Over the years, Karan has proved that he is a man of many talents. He has hosted shows and even tried his luck in Bollywood.

Nowadays, Karan is making headlines because of his show ‘Channa Mereya’, co-starring Niyati Fatnani. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble for Reel Buddies 2, Karan got candid as he spilled the beans on facing difficulties in making his acting comeback.

The actor said, “It’s very difficult. It’s honestly very difficult because people see your stardom and people are like ‘aare tumhe toh kabhi bhi kaam mil jayega and tumhe toh kabhi bhi paisa mil jayega.’ What people don’t realize is fortunately or unfortunately this medium of television grows at a very steady speed. It has its own speed. It doesn’t have that thing ki duniya mein kya ho raha hai. Humara TV chal raha hai. Lockdown tha, lockdown nahi tha, TV ko kuch nahi hua hai, TV chal raha hai apne speed pe.”

He went on to add, “I think that was my only fear that I wanted to come back because over the years it’s not that I have not tried to come back on TV. When I used to read articles ki ye karega ya ye karega, uss 100 articles mein se 99 articles sahi the. I used to just lie at that time because I didn’t know if I wanted to do it. I used to always be scared about the fact that I don’t want to again start working to make money because I have made money. And yes, I would want to make more and everyone wants to make more but there is no line that you can draw on that. I don’t want to come to work and just enjoy the stardom that I have but not work enough to sustain that stardom and just become complecent and say chal na per day banate hai, chal kaam karte hai.”

He added, “When this came to me my web show was just released ‘Never Kiss Your Bestfriend’ was just released and a few friends of mine told me why would you want to go back on TV other than the fact that you’d make money. Because you’re anyway doing, you’re hosting, you’re doing your stuff. You will be curtailed for a certain foundation and and I told them what’s happening to me with time is because I’ve been doing so much non-fiction, unfortunately television ka ek aur problem hai aap jab kuch jyada kar lete ho na, log bhul jaate ho ki aap kuch aur bhi ho. So I was an actor first then everybody started taking you an anchor, and when they start taking you as anchor, it impacts your overall persona that you have in the public. I felt I wanted to act more and yes, web gives me that space.”

I just missed working everyday and being relevant to myself everyday. I think that is what just brought me back to TV because I told myself agar complacency aapko lagti hai, toh aapko hi kaam karna padea uske liye,” he added.
