Shweta Tiwari has seen a lot in her personal life. Whether it was her marriage with Raja Choudhury or her second one with Abhinav Kohli she has been through a lot of ups and downs. In exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Shweta Tiwari shared ‘Her Story’ of going through this personal trauma, and failed marriage.

Speaking about her decision to remarry, Shweta gives an example that reflects the mentality of Indian society. “If someone from your dad’s and mom’s college comes and tells you that your dad and mom had several girlfriends and boyfriends in college, the first reaction for your dad would be he was so cool. But at the same time, if it is about your mom, you get judgemental. My question is why?,” Shweta told us.

Shweta also pointed out an important thing about marriage, she says, “When a boy gets married to a divorcee, there will be a lot of criticism. It will be discussed again and again that the boy is getting married to a woman who is married and has kids. But if a woman gets married to a divorcee man half of the time people don’t know that.”

Regarding the age gap in marriage, Shweta raised a concern, “If a man is 15-20 years older to his partner people still say ‘they look so cute but if the woman is 5 years older to her husband they will say the man got married to a mother. Sadly this is the way people talk.”

Shweta also shares how people still tell her not to marry for the third time. She says, “I want to tell them who are you to decide that? Are they going to pay the money for my wedding?” Shweta is amazed at how society judges someone based on the status of a woman and says, “When I was going through a lot in my first marriage people in my housing society have seen that and they were very proud when I came out from the marriage. The same set of people behaved weirdly when I decided on my second marriage. Half of them have stopped talking to me.”

Shweta Tiwari separated from her husband Abhinav Kohli in August 2019. The couple has a four-year-old son Reyaansh, who stays with his mother.
