Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna had recently slammed ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ (TKSS). The ‘Mahabharat’ actor found comedian Kapil’s show to be ‘vulgar and cheap’. In a lengthy Instagram post, Mukesh had severely criticised the show and said that it was full of double meaning and demeaning jokes. Kapil Sharma has finally responded on this severe criticism that his show received from the ‘Mahabharat’ actor.

Following Mukesh Khanna’s harsh remark on TKSS, Gajendra Chauhan had come out in support of the show. What followed next was a war of words between Mukesh and Gajendra. Now finally reacting to this war of words, Kapil told Times of India, “My team and I are working hard to make people smile during this crucial stage of the pandemic. When the whole world is going through a tough time, it is important to bring a smile on people’s faces. It depends on each individual ki aapko kis baat main khushi dhoondhni hai, aur kis baat main kami. I have chosen happiness and prefer to focus on my work and continue to keep doing that in the future.”

For the unversed, Mukesh had said that he had declined the invitation to appear in ‘Mahabharat’ reunion episode on TKSS because he found the show to be cheap and vulgar. “The reason is that even though the Kapil Show is popular all over the country, I do not think there is a worse show than this. This show full of double meaning words, taking a turn towards vulgarity with every moment. In which the men wear women’s clothes, do cheap things and people laugh, holding their stomachs. I do not understand why people laugh so much with this show. They place a fellow on the throne in the centre. His job is to laugh. Even if the laughter is not genuine, it gives him money. Before this, brother Siddhu used to sit for this work. Now, sister, Archana does it. And what is their job? Just to laugh?,” Khanna had written in his post.

Reacting to Khanna’s comments, Gajendra had told Dainik Bhaskar, “I think Mukeshji now finds grapes sour because he did not get to eat the grapes. This show has been number one, crores of people watch it and he calls it wahiyat (bad quality). He even said that in the show men dress in women’s clothes. He forgot that even in the Mahabharata, Arjun had dressed up as a girl and danced in a scene, should he have left the show too? Why did Mukeshji not leave Mahabharata at that time? I strongly condemn this behaviour of Mukeshji.”
