Ssunita Ahuja Speaks About Emotional Reunion With Krushna Abhishek, Kashmera Shah

Ssunita Ahuja recently made headlines after earlier reports of tension involving her husband, Govinda, as she reunited with her nephew, Krushna Abhishek, and his wife, Kashmera Shah, after a gap of 14 years. The emotional reunion reportedly took place on the set of Laughter Chefs, turning a fun-filled episode into a deeply emotional moment of reconciliation for the family.

Speaking about the reunion, Ssunita shared her happiness over finally meeting them again, including her grandchildren for the first time. In conversation with Mid-Day, she said, “I finally reunited with Krushna and Kashmera. Vipul came to me twice, thrice, inviting me to the show. I had spoken to Kashmera and Krushna earlier, but then I decided to do a surprise appearance; they were not informed that I was going. It was really nice to see them, they are my kids only.”

Ssunita Ahuja Calls The Rift A ‘Burden In Her Heart’

She further reflected on the long-standing distance, adding, “And it has been 14 years since the rift. I didn’t want to keep this burden in my heart, so I decided to forgive them. I was so happy to see my grandchildren for the first time. They are so sweet, and my heart was so happy seeing how they look like me. They are so good-looking, and god bless them.”

Addressing the past issues that had even impacted Krushna’s appearances on Kapil Sharma’s show, Ssunita admitted that her emotions had been intense at the time. She said, “Those were the times when I was actually hurt, but now I have put it all in the past. All I want to do is embrace my kids, love my grandchildren, love Kashmera and Krushna. I want this work to be done together. And we enjoyed thoroughly shooting together on Laughter Chefs. I wish lots and lots of love and success to Krushna and Kashmera and all the love for my grandchildren.”

The reunion left Krushna and Kashmera visibly surprised, with the show’s makers even naming the special segment ‘Mami Day’ to celebrate the moment. During the episode, Krushna also surprised his sister Arti Singh by video calling her. Furthermore, leaving her emotional as she witnessed the heartfelt family reconciliation unfold on screen.

About the 14-Year-Long Rift

The prolonged disagreement between Ssunita Ahuja and her nephew-in-law, Krushna Abhishek, reportedly began after a 2016 episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, where a joke left Ssunita offended. The situation further escalated due to remarks made by Krushna’s wife. Kashmera Shah, back then, tweeted, “Some people dance at weddings for money.” This remark of hers made Ssunita feel the tweet was aimed at her husband, Govinda.

At the time, Ssunita had openly expressed her anger, stating she did not wish to see Krushna again. Moreover, emphasising that family ties should not be misused or disrespected. The fallout continued for years with public exchanges, criticism, and allegations on both sides, before the family eventually reconciled.
