In the film industry, we have seen several actors turning directors but it’s very rare when a director faces the camera. National Award winning director Prakash Jha is all set to play a negative character in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming home production which is tentatively titled ‘Womaniya’.

Yes, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Prakash will be playing a significant character in ‘Womaniya’ which stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is based on the story of the world’s oldest sharpshooters Chandro Tomar (86) and Prakashi (81) who hail from Uttar Pradesh. They both are sisters-in-law.

Interestingly, Prakash has previously acted in his own directorial ‘Jai Gangaajal’ and ‘Raajneeti’. Talking about Kashyap’s film, a source close to the development told the tabloid, “Prakash will be playing a villain in this film. He has loved the script and will start shooting with Taapsee and Bhumi from February 10 onwards.”

Earlier, there were several reports of the film being shelved and Taapsee Pannu walking out of the film. However, with this latest development, you all can be sure that the film is very much on track. In fact, clearing the airs regarding the film being shelved, Taapsee was quoted as saying in Hindustan Times, “I can tell you from the information and knowledge I have, that all is on track. Rest we are waiting for the official announcement of the film, which is why we aren’t talking about it in detail as of now.”
