Aamir Khan’s Paani Foundation has not received any sort of financial assistance from the Government of Maharashtra. The CEO of Satyamev Jayate, Satyajit Bhatkal, revealed it by saying, “There is no proposal whatsoever on the part of the Government of Maharashtra to provide any financial assistance to Paani Foundation, nor has Paani Foundation applied for the same. Paani Foundation has not taken, nor does it plan to seek, any funding whatsoever from the government.”

He further said, “The GR (Government Resolution) enables Gram Panchayats to apply to the Government for funds for doing watershed management work as per the rules of the government. In cases where these funds will be sanctioned, the funds will go directly from the government to the concerned Gram Panchayat and Paani Foundation is in no way concerned with the same.”
