Abbas Mustan to remake Korean film 'The Tunnel'

Popular for making edge-of-the-seats thriller movies, filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan are all set to treat the lovers of the thriller genre, with a remake of South Korean, survival drama ‘The Tunnel’.

The filmmaker, whose last film was ‘Machine’ are very excited about this new project. Talking about the film, a source close to the development told DNA, “They want to begin the film this December. Once the principal cast is signed and the shooting dates are locked, they will make an official announcement along with a release date.” 

Reportedly the filmmaker duo is planning to cast A-list actors in their version of the Korean thriller. Released in the year 2016, the story of ‘The Tunnel’ revolved around a car salesman, who gets trapped when a poorly constructed tunnel collapses. The film showcases the man’s survival inside the tunnel. Directed by Kim Seong-hun, the film starred Lee Jung-Soo in the lead role.
