In a country like India, cricketers and Bollywood stars are literally worshipped by millions. The kind of love and admiration these celebs enjoy is exceptional. So when it comes to dominating brand value rankings, it goes without saying that cricketers and stars always come on top of the list.

In the recently released “Celebrity Brand Valuation Study 2020” by Duff & Phelps, while Virat Kohli has topped the list, actors like Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh have left behind their Bollywood counterparts. Read on to know who are the other B-town celebs featuring on this list.

According to Duff & Phelps new report titled ‘Embracing the New Normal’, with a brand value of USD 237.7 million, Anushka Sharma’s husband Virat Kohli has become India’s most valued celebrity. Next on the top ten list features superstar Akshay Kumar. Currently, the Bell Bottom actor’s brand value stands at USD 118.9. Kumar is followed by Ranveer Singh whose brand value is USD 102.9 million.

Surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan is third on the list. The superstars’ current brand value is USD 51.1 million. Speaking about new and young celebs making their way on the list, Aviral Jain, managing director at Duff & Phelps said, “While established celebrities continue to dominate our rankings, notable millennials with a strong social media presence continue to climb the ladder. Ayushmann Khurrana, Tiger Shroff and Rohit Sharma all jumped a few spots to grab the No 6, 15 and 17 spots, respectively.”

After SRK, next on the list comes Deepika Padukone (USD 50.4 mn). The leggy beauty is followed by Alia Bhatt (USD 48 mn) and Ayushmann Khurrana (USD 48 mn) at number 6. On number 8 is Salman Khan (USD 45 mn), her is followed by Amitabh Bachchan (44.2 mn). The last actor that features on the top ten list is handsome hunk, Hrithik Roshan (USD 39.4).

The biggest gainer on the list is Badhai Ho actor Ayushmann. His brand value increased from 40.3 to 48 USD million this year. The actor is certainly on his way to becoming one of the most sought after actor as well as a celeb in B-town.

The pandemic and subsequent lockdown did affect everyone’s brand value. “The major celebs remained unaffected. But we did see many brands signing up celebrities for short-term contracts, a bit like influencer campaigns,” shared Jain.
