Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna

The 2017 edition of Vogue Beauty Awards took place recently, and while B-Town in all its fashion galore was resplendent on the black carpet of glam, there was someone who took away all the glory, even when she was absent from the event. We are talking about none other than the queen of wit and our beloved Mrs Funnybones aka Twinkle Khanna, who wrote an acceptance speech for husband Akshay Kumar, who won the award for ‘The Most Beautiful Man of The Decade’. The razor-sharp humour and surreal hiccups in the letter had everyone ROFL-ing really hard.

The writer-columnist, who is known for her blunt attitude which reflects in her words and tweets, wrote the letter from Akshay’s point of view, but very cleverly charting and inserting her own thoughts. While we laughed to our heart’s content over the same, we could not help going all aww over the way Akshay was all obedient and loving husband, and recited the letter, word for word.

Without further delay, here goes. (Also Read: Meet the best and worst dressed celebs from Vogue Beauty Awards 2017!)

Akshay started off and began narrating the letter. “My wife has given me a speech. So I will have to say this. Bear with me. They say that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder but I say beauty is whoever let you hold her. I would like to thank Vogue for this award. To my overpaid trainer and my underpaid cook, a big thank you for helping me maintain this beautiful Man of the Decade Body which I have.”

But wait! Here’s more. The letter further says, “Though part of the credit should also go to the fact that I did not have two carry my two children for nine whole months. And thus my stomach did not have to stretch to elephantine proportions, and then deflate to a small paunch with stretch marks and saggy skin that no amount of dieting can eradicate.”

If you are not yet dead from laughing, here’s a bit more. “It’s time for me to wind this up because it’s really not fair that I always reach home late, and I should not take anyone so much for granted. But before I leave I would once again like to thank my beautiful, talented wife,” Akshay concluded, or rather, Mrs Funnybones’ words concluded in the voice of the man.

These two are really giving us couple goals, with every single thing they do.

On the work front, Akshay will next be seen in ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, alongside Bhumi Pednekar. He is also working on Twinkle Khanna’s debut production venture ‘padman’, which is based on a real life person, who was the protagonist of a novella that Twinkle wrote, and is a part of her compiled stories ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, which was published last year.
