Ali Abbas Zafar finally opens up on his hush-hush wedding to Alicia; says, “She is a first-generation Iranian from France”

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar gave everyone a pleasant surprise when he announced taking the plunge with Alicia. The ‘Bharat’ director has started the New Year on a great note and he is elated to have found the love of his life.

Ali first teased his fans and followers with just a glimpse from his wedding day, and it was only yesterday when he revealed his beautiful wife’s identity. In a recent interview, Ali opened up about his hush-hush wedding and how he fell in love with Alicia.

Speaking about his lovely wife and their wedding, Ali told Mid-Day, “She is from France, so the visas were initially posing a problem. As soon as she got the visa, we went to Dehradun and got married at home. It was always planned this way.”

Opening about how he wooed Alicia, the ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ director told the portal, “She is a first-generation Iranian from France. I had gone there for work and immediately fell in love with her. I pursued her for almost two years, convincing her that I am the man who will keep her happy. It has been a difficult task, but I am glad she finally agreed.”

Revealing the reason why he got married now, Ali said that he is occupied with work commitments throughout the year and since they didn’t know when they would have got a clear window after Europe went into the second lockdown, they decided to take the plunge.

On the work front, Ali is all set to make his digital debut with the political drama ‘Tandav’ starring Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia and Sunil Grover in the lead.
