Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha push their wedding to 2021; actress says, “2020 has played spoilsport”

Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have been in love since the time they shot for the first ‘Fukrey’ film. They kept their relationship hidden for some time and after a while when people started seeing them together at events and red carpets, they opened up and admitted about being in love. They were all set to get hitched this year in April, but sadly, due to the Coronavirus outbreak all over, they had to postpone the wedding.

Also, there was the sudden demise of Ali Fazal’s mom, which saddened the families even further. Now, we get to know that the wedding has been pushed as far as 2021 in order to steer away from Covid-19 as much as possible.

In an official statement, Richa Chadha said, “2020 has played spoilsport with us in many ways. The pandemic is far from done with us and the vaccine is nowhere in sight. It is only pragmatic to push our celebration to the coming year, in the interest of everyone that would attend.”

Earlier in March, when the Coronavirus lockdown had just been announced, the couple had released a statement which had said, “Given the current scenario and the unfortunate turn of events owing to the Covid-19 pandemic globally, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have decided to postpone their wedding functions to the later half of 2020 tentatively. They wish for everyone to be healthy and safe and at no cost would want their friends, families and well-wishers to be affected.”
