The Chandigarh division of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NBC) recently posted a video on their X handle, featuring Alia Bhatt as the face of their mission campaign. The Jigra actress was seen endorsing a “dr*g-free” Bharat and supporting NBC’s mission. However, the video quickly went viral, and the internet began trolling Bhatt, criticising her as an unsuitable choice to promote this initiative.

Alia Bhatt appeared in a video shared by the official dr*g law enforcement agency, encouraging everyone to say no to dr*gs and join NBC’s fight against addiction. She is heard saying, “Hello friends, I am Alia Bhatt. Today I want to talk about a very serious issue of dr*g addiction and how it’s becoming a threat to our lives, society, and nation. Support the Narcotics Control Bureau in this special campaign against dr*gs. Say yes to life and no to dr*gs. You can take an e-pledge against dr*gs by visiting the link given below or by scanning the QR code, and you can definitely join the NCB. Jai Hind.”
The video was shared 680 times and received 1.1 million views. The caption on the NBC post read, “Alia Bhatt joins hands with NCB to spread the message of a #Dr*gsFreeBharat #NashaMuktBharat #azadifromdr*gs.” Despite the intention, the comments section was flooded with harsh remarks criticising her suitability for the campaign. After just six comments, NBC disabled the comments option altogether.
How Alia Bhatt Got Trolled For The NBC Campaign Video
While the comment section was turned off, some users reshared the video using the “quote-tweet” feature. One comment read, “Like, why do they keep making us take pledges? When has a pledge ever worked? If someone offers me dr*gs, I am not going to be like, but I promised Alia Bhatt.”
Another user mocked, “Bollywood spreading dr*g awareness.” Additionally, one internet user attached a screenshot of a past quote from Ranbir Kapoor. He admitted, “I used it (w*ed), during Rockstar,” referencing his past struggles with dr*gs.
