Their previous work together played a key role in shaping Kartik’s early career. And now, fresh reports suggest the duo is set to reunite for a romantic comedy.

According to Bollywood Hungama sources, Kartik Aaryan has given his nod to Luv Ranjan’s next directorial venture. It is expected to go on floors towards the end of 2026. The report states, “Luv Ranjan has been keen to partner with Kartik Aaryan for a while now. And the duo have been jamming on multiple subjects over the last 6 months. After multiple rounds of discussions, they have finally locked in on an exciting idea, which falls right in the world of the Punchnama franchise. Kartik has okayed the script and has tentatively allotted dates from the end of 2026, starting in October.”

The source further added that the collaboration feels natural for both. Kartik reportedly believes that Luv Ranjan understands his strengths as an actor and brings out his best on screen, which makes this reunion particularly exciting.

Luv Ranjan To Work On A Rom-Com With Kartik Aaryan

Meanwhile, Luv Ranjan has also shifted gears creatively. “Luv Ranjan is doing what he does best – making a romantic comedy. Earlier, he was planning to make an action film, but all those plans were dropped when he was organically drawn towards a hilarious concept. He started developing it, and the role has turned out perfect for Kartik’s image,” the Bollywood Hungama source shared.

At present, Kartik Aaryan has a packed schedule. He is working on multiple projects, including films with Anurag Basu and Kabir Khan. Additionally, he has Nagzilla and Captain India lined up, with shooting timelines spread across the coming months.

If everything falls into place, Kartik is expected to begin work on Captain India around June, followed by Luv Ranjan’s film in October 2026.

While an official announcement is still awaited, this potential reunion has already generated buzz. Given their strong track record in the romantic comedy space, expectations remain high. If confirmed, the film could mark a return to the genre that first connected Kartik Aaryan with audiences, while also reinforcing Luv Ranjan’s signature storytelling style.
