Actor-director Soni Razdan, filed a police complaint on January 23, 2025, leading to the arrest of Vedika Prakash Shetty, 32, who was Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant. Alia Bhatt’s Former Personal Assistant Accused Of Duping Rs 76.9 Lakhs
The fraudulent activities reportedly took place between May 2022 and August 2024. The matter came to light after Soni Razdan lodged a complaint with Juhu police, prompting a case under sections related to criminal breach of trust and cheating. Authorities then initiated an investigation to locate Vedika Shetty.
About Accusations
According to police sources, Shetty served as Ms Bhatt’s personal assistant from 2021 to 2024. She was responsible for managing financial documents, payments, and scheduling. It is alleged that Shetty created fake bills, obtained Ms Bhatt’s signature on them. She is also accused of diverting the funds—claiming they were for travel, meetings, and other expenses. She reportedly used professional tools to make these fake bills appear legitimate. After Ms Bhatt signed the documents, the money was transferred to Shetty’s friend’s account. This friend then routed the funds back to Shetty.
Following the complaint, Shetty went into hiding, frequently changing locations. She was tracked through Rajasthan, Karnataka, Pune, and Bengaluru before being apprehended in Bengaluru. She was subsequently brought to Mumbai on a transit warrant. Vedika has been arrested in Bengaluru by the Juhu Police on Tuesday evening, nearly five months after a complaint was filed against her.
