Ayushmann Khurrana Gives Musical Tribute To Late Asha Bhosle With Her Lesser-Known Punjabi Song

Ayushmann Khurrana shared a heartfelt video of himself playing the guitar and singing ‘Das Mereya Dilbara,’ a beautiful Punjabi song originally sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi. The actor, who was last seen in ‘Thamma,’ paid tribute to the legendary singer Asha Bhosle with this musical homage.

On Wednesday, Ayushmann took to his Instagram to post the video. He captioned it,“This is one of my favourite lesser-known Punjabi gems by Asha. Grew up on her voice. And it will live on, always.”

About Asha Bhosle’s Career

Asha Bhosle began her illustrious career with her first playback song for the 1943 Marathi film ‘Majha Bal.’ She sang timeless hits like Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani, Kya Ghazab Karte Ho Ji, O Haseena Zulfonwale Jane Jahan, and Ye Ladka Hai Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana. Notably, she lent her voice to songs in around 20 Indian and foreign languages.

Asha Ji’s Death, Funeral

Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday. Tai earned the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. Her funeral was held with full state honours. She was given a guard of honour at her residence in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Her mortal remains were taken to Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar. Draped in the tricolour, her body was cremated with full state honours.

Many prominent personalities from Bollywood attended her last rites, including Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, Vivek Oberoi, music composer Anu Malik, singers Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale, Shaan, filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, actress Padmini Kolhapure, and others.
