Earlier, in an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress had said, “I am definitely going to do a film with Ashwiny because she is a fabulous director. The film is sort of confirmed, but I am not saying it myself, as there will be an official announcement soon.” (Also ReadAlia Bhatt confirms a light-hearted film with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari!)

The latest update on the same is that the yet-to-be-titled film will go on floors in the second half of 2019. A source informed Mumbai Mirror, ” After wrapping up Raazi, Alia was excited about doing a film from a completely different genre. She had been raving about the project since the script narration and was keen to come on board. Finalising the details took a while, but the actress gave her nod to the project after reviewing her dates. She will be stepping into a never-seen-before avatar for the comedy-drama.”

The movie will be a ‘slice-of-life’ film. Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has earlier worked on films like ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ and ‘Bareily Ki Barfi’. And, we hope that her next project will also be up-to-the-mark.
