Patel was travelling from New York to Mumbai via Dubai on an Emirates flight when the aircraft had to change course unexpectedly. The diversion occurred after UAE authorities shut down their airspace in response to reports of missile attacks in the region. On Monday, she shared a photo with her travel companions on X, expressing relief with the message, “Finallyyyyyyy MUMBAI!!! Thank you everyone for all your prayers (sic).”

Earlier, she detailed the disruption, describing the tense situation as it unfolded. “On my way back to MUMBAI from NEW YORK on Emirates! As we were about to land in DUBAI, the airspace closed in the UAE due to fresh missile attacks! We have now been diverted to MUSCAT and are awaiting further updates!! When will this WAR end!! Praying (sic),” she posted.

Travelling with DJ Chetas and producer Kunal Goomer, Patel also shared a picture from the airport lounge, highlighting the extended delay. “24 hours from the time we left NYC and still counting hours to reach Mumbai. Endless airport lounge time (sic),” she wrote.

The diversion happened just before the flight was scheduled to land in Dubai, leaving passengers in limbo as they awaited further instructions amid ongoing uncertainty. This incident comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, with reports indicating increased missile and drone strikes targeting infrastructure in the UAE, including oil facilities and shipping routes, with Iran allegedly involved.

On the professional front, Patel’s last release was Tauba Tera Jalwa, which did not perform well at the box office. Her most recent commercial success remains Gadar 2, in which she starred alongside Sunny Deol.
