Anurag Basu Confirms Kartik Aaryan, Sreeleela’s Romantic Drama Is On Schedule; Plans For 2026 Release

Director Anurag Basu has confirmed that his upcoming untitled film starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, backed by T-Series, is progressing as planned, with production currently in motion. The project remains slated for a theatrical release later this year. Despite the ongoing speculation around the film’s delay, the Director has confirmed that the film is progressing steadily and remains firmly on track.

The collaboration between the film’s two actors has already sparked considerable curiosity, marking a fresh pairing under Basu’s direction. Speaking about the film’s status, Director Anurag Basu said, “We are very much on schedule, and the shoot is progressing well. It’s a film we believe in deeply, and we are bringing it to audiences this year as intended.”

With filming in full swing, the project continues to build anticipation among audiences, promising a grand musical experience when it arrives in theatres this year. Gulshan Kumar & T-Series present an Anurag Basu directorial, with music by Pritam, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.

About The Film

Last February, Kartik Aaryan shared a sneak peek of Anurag’s upcoming musical on Instagram, also announcing the original release date. In the clip, Kartik appeared in a rugged look with tousled hair and a heavy beard, singing “Tu Meri Zindagi Hai” in front of a large audience while strumming the guitar. The video also offered a glimpse of the fiery romance between him and Sreeleela, showing them riding a bike while hugging and sharing cosy moments near a bonfire. The film was originally scheduled for a Diwali release last year. There were reports for the film to release on Valentines Week as well.
