Anurag Kashyap files FIR against a social media troll who threatened to rape his daughter

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has filed an FIR against a social media troll who had threatened to rape his daughter. A few days back, Kashyap had tweeted a message congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his win (Lok Sabha elections) and also asking him how to deal with his followers who threatened to rape his daughter just because he happens to be his dissenter.

Later following the due procedure, Kashyap lodged a formal complaint at Amboli police station. As per a report in Times Now, an FIR has been filed against the troll under sections 504, 509 of Indian Penal code and 67 of information technology act.

Sharing a screenshot of the threats his daughter has been receiving, the ‘Manmarziyaan’ director posted the following message:

Dear @narendramodi sir. Congratulations on your victory and thank you for the message of inclusiveness. Sir please also tell us how do we deal with these followers of yours who celebrate your victory by threatening my daughter with messages like this for me being your dissenter. pic.twitter.com/jC7jYVBCi8

After filing the FIR, Anurag thanked Mumbai Police and Maharashtra cyber cell for their support and for making him more secure as a father. You can check his entire post below:

On several occasions, Kashyap has voiced his opinions against PM Modi openly. And just because he is not pro-establishment, it doesn’t give others a right to threaten him or his family.

Interestingly, actress-singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi called out Anurag Kashyap and questioned his intentions behind tagging the PM in his tweet. She asked the filmmaker to do the right thing i.e file a complaint instead of tagging the PM.
