Few Bollywood celebrities started hitting the headlines including filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, on the rise in mob lynching in the country. Almost 62 celebs have written an open letter to PM Narendra Modi over the same issue. Looks like the ‘Manmarziyaan’ director landed himself in a trouble after expressing his opinion with the open letter. On Thursday, the filmmaker took the social media by storm after revealing about the death threats that he has been receiving from one of the Twitter users.

The filmmaker took to his Twitter handle and shared a post tagging Mumbai Police in it. In the post, Anurag Kashyap reveals that one of the Twitter users wrote that he had recently cleaned his rifle and shotgun and is waiting to see him (Anurag) in person.

While his fans were still in a shock, Mumbai Police was quick to revert back on the filmmakers tweet and they were all geared up for the safety of the filmmaker. However, the aforementioned post by the threat remains unavailable after cyber police’s involvement in the case. Now, we are not sure if the user has deleted his own account or his account has been suspended by Twitter after the cyber police’s involvement, but surely the police have acted swiftly.

On the work front, Anurag Kashyap has recently co-produced Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, which is slated to hit the screens on October 25.
