Despite being a very busy filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap is quite active on social media. Kashyap expresses his dissent when needed and lends his support to several causes close to his heart. He also never refrains from shutting down the trolls.

Recently, Bollywood celebs were criticised for not coming out in support of the 2.5-year-old toddler who was brutally murdered in Aligarh. Though later, we saw several B-town stars condemning the heinous crime. Anurag Kashyap too came out and demanded justice for the toddler. At the same time, he urged everyone to stop spreading fake rumours and videos.

Soon, a Twitter user accused Anurag of being a hypocrite. He cited that when his daughter was threatened, he tagged the PMO in his tweet asking for justice. Now, he thinks that a toddler’s murder shouldn’t call for the anger of a common man.

The filmmaker, without wasting any time, made his stance clear and wrote, “Murder of a child is as heinous a crime as it can be and there should be action and there was. Criminals were arrested. But taking it further to say there was rape, and dismembering of the body and eyes gouged out which didn’t happen and then creating an atmosphere of riots. No”

Even actress Swara Bhasker, who usually is very proactive on Twitter, was trolled mercilessly by the netizens for her late reaction on the Aligarh girl’s murder case.

Instead of concentrating on how and when these Bollywood celebs are reacting on a given subject, it would be really commendable if the netizens questioned the authorities in power. And this practice would have made the authorities even more accountable.
