Breaking: Varun Dhawan replaces Salman Khan in ‘Shuddhi’

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has confirmed that ‘Shuddhi’ will star Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The long delayed project had its course of troubles, when Hritik first walked out of the project, then there were talks of Ranveer Singh replacing him before Salman Khan took over, and now even Salman has left the project. Varun Dhawan will now be replacing him. Karan Johar tweeted the confirmation.

Earlier it was said that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be playing the lead in Karan Johar’s movie, Salman too has confirmed the news of Varun Dhawan being signed for Shuddhi. Salman tweeted,

Karan Johar’s Shuddhi will be directed by Karan Malhotra, who will start the work immediately after ‘Brothers’, slated to release worldwide on 14th August. This will be the third time that Karan will be working with Varun and Alia. He had earlier worked with them in Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.

This will be the third outing for the pair after Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, both films produced by Karan Johar as well.
