Dhanush

An aged couple has claimed Bollywood and South actor Dhanush as their son, and have also accused him of providing fake birth certificate to the Madras High Court bench, after Dhanush went there on January 25 to request them to quash the case filed by the couple. The actor also sought a stay on the proceedings pending in the Judicial Magistrate’s court.

The couple claims that Dhanush is trying to get their case pending before a lower court at nearby Melur and in their counter affidavit before the Melur Judicial Magistrate, the couple, R Kathiresan and Meenakshi has now submitted that they could prove that Dhanush was their son, if at all a trial was conducted.

The couple further claimed that Dhanush was their third son and have sought maintenance of Rs 65,000 per month from the actor. They submitted that Dhanush was a schoolboy when he ran away to Chennai to enter the film world. They could not find him but later recognised him while watching his movies. Dhanush had earlier too denied their claim and had also accused the couple of blackmailing him.

This was when the actor had provided the court with a birth certificate which mentioned that he was born on July 28, 1983 at the children’s hospital at Egmore and his parents were Krishnamoorthy and K Vijayalakshmi. Even though his name was not mentioned in the certificate, the actor said he was given the name R K Vengadesha Prabu.

A gazette notification issued to change his name as K Dhanush was also produced.

The couple on the other hand claimed that Dhanush was born at Government Rajaji hospital on November 7, 1985 and his name was Kalaichelvan. He had done his studies in Madurai district till the 10th standard and was then admitted to a private school at Tiruppatur in Sivaganga district.
