‘Dangal’ and ‘Tumhari Sulu’ win big at Screen Awards 2017

And lo and behold! One of the biggest award shows of the season was held, Screen Awards, and two worthy movies emerged winner; ‘Tumhari Sulu’ and ‘Dangal’. While former came just in the nick of time to sweep the laurels, latter was last year’s last release which went for nominations this year. And boy, it did win big. Following the same were ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi!’, ‘Hindi Medium’ and ‘Newton’.

Let’s just say, that the list of award winners this time gives us hope that just and true performances will not go unnoticed. (Also Read: Fashion WONDERS and BLUNDERS from Star Screen Awards 2017!)

‘Dangal’ was the star of the evening as the Aamir Khan production went on to win major music and technical awards, and on mainstream front, it won the debut awards as well, as per the director’s tweet, who too was ecstatic with the Best Director win.

While Vidya Balan went on to win the award for the best actress for ‘Tumhari Sulu’, Irrfan Khan was the best actor for ‘Hindi Medium’. The critics award for the best actor was bestowed on Rajkummar Rao for ‘Newton’. Neha Dhupia sweeped the trophy for Best Supporting Actress. Rajkummar Rao was the star with his hands full as apart from Best Actor (Critics), he also bagged the award for the Best Supporting Actor for ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi!’
