Bigg Boss 20: Salman Khan Raises Concern Over AI Content, Deepfakes; Calls For Strict Action Against Such Creators, “I’m Going To Yake This Up Very Seriously”

Salman Khan is someone known for speaking his mind when it comes to taking a stand on several concerning issues. Days after taking a stand against trolls with his fiery rant during the Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Khan has now criticised people for creating fake AI videos and deepfake content on social media.

Revealing how he has also been a victim of such content, the actor – who is fondly called the Bhaijaan of Bollywood, called for censorship on social media and strict, legal action against all creating and spreading such content. Read on to know all he said.

During his appearance on the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20, Salman Khan raised concerns over the growing misuse of artificial intelligence on social media, particularly the creation of fake videos and manipulated audio featuring public figures. The conversation began with Khan speaking about how bullying and eve-teasing have shifted to social media in the form of trolling. He also stressed that people need to be held accountable for what they say and create online.

Taking a stand against AI-content and those who create it, the actor-host – who has also been at the receiving end of AI-generated content, said, “Someone made an AI video, or did AI voice dubbing; that is wrong. AI has progressed so much that it’s very scary. It’s a very serious thing. You said something, and someone used AI to edit it and kisi ko gali bakdi. You know what they’re doing? AI videos bana rahe hain yeh. Bahut saare logon ke (They abuse someone. Do you know what they’re doing? They’re making AI videos of so many people), and even I am there in the AI video.”

The actor – demanding strict action against those who create and circulate such content. He said, “Now, people who don’t know it is AI-generated content might post that Salman Khan was there. But those who know this reality and still created the video, what kind of people are they? Now those kinds of people should be put behind bars. Jab tak koi ek aadh, do aisa andar jaayega nahi na, tab tak yeh rukne wala hai nahi (Till a couple of such individuals aren’t arrested, this such not stop). There has to be a law that needs to be passed, and there has to be censorship on social media. And I am going to take this up very seriously.”

During the episode, Salman Khan further expressed concern for people who do not have the influence/resources to approach authorities. He stated that while celebrities can approach the cyber cell and find out who created an AI video, ordinary people may not have the same support. He stated that such content has serious impact on individuals and their families.
