There has been strong news doing the rounds that Deepika Padukone has backed out of The Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Hyderabad from 28-30th November. Apart from Pm Narendra Modi, the event will also be attended by Ivanka Trump, US president Donald Trump’s daughter. This development comes close to the recent attacks on ‘Padmavati’ and Deepika Padukone in particular. The actress was supposed to be part of a panel discussion but has withdrawn her attendance and the organisers are already finalising a replacement.

“There is a panel discussion on ‘Hollywood to Nollywood (Nigerian Film industry) to Bollywood’. Earlier, Deepika Padukone was expected to be in that session, but she has now declined. We are trying (to see) who can replace her,” said Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, IT and Industry, Telangana government to Outlook India.

If sources are to be believed then Deepika Padukone isn’t quite pleased with the way the government is handling the entire ‘Padmavati’ situation. As recent as yesterday many of Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to express their displeasure regarding the bounty announced for beheading Deepika and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. No action has been taken yet against such threats. (Also Read: Padmavati Row: Aditi, Arjun, Parineeti, Varun question the government’s silence)

Not only Bollywood but even common man is aghast with governments silence over the issues. Post the release of ‘Padmavati’ being pushed, Deepika Padukone’s absentee from a Modi event comes as a no surprise.
