Gaurav Gera Praises Director Aditya Dhar
Gaurav Gera is currently enjoying the success of Dhurandhar, where he portrayed Aalam (doodh soda wala), an undercover agent. In a conversation with India Today, he spoke about his experience of working with director Aditya Dhar, highlighting his calm and composed demeanour on set. Speaking about the filmmaker’s personality, Gaurav Gera said, “This man is so evolved. He has clarity of thought, and you will get to know that by listening to his talks.”
Gaurav added,” I remember he was giving a speech somewhere or was at an event on stage. He spoke about the industry and how, at times, you feel it’s not for you, and then one moment changes everything. I felt like he was talking to me, directly. That’s the beauty of this man,” he shared.
Gaurav Gera Calls Aditya Dhar A Sorted Man
He further described Dhar as a “very sorted man,” adding that both he and his wife, Yami Gautam, are wonderful individuals. “I feel intellectually they are very, very sorted people,” he said.
Talking about Dhar’s ability to handle large-scale projects, Gera noted how effortlessly he manages pressure despite directing major blockbusters. He recalled being surprised by Dhar’s relaxed attitude during intense shooting schedules. “He did it all so easily. I remember once on set, when we were shooting the Lyari, and he was casually scrolling on his phone. I asked him if this is such a big film with such a huge cast and so much happening. Don’t you get tense? He just smiled and said, ‘I have a great team, I have nothing to worry,” the actor shared.
Gera contrasted this with his past experiences, pointing out how many directors tend to create chaos on set. “I remember this because I have often seen many filmmakers doing chillam chilli. I have seen a lot of abusive directors. But here is a man who was so chilled because he trusts his team. He is always smiling and very soft-spoken. Even now, look at him, crediting all his teammates on social media,” Gera added.
