Dia Mirza has managed to turn everyone’s heart into a big puddle of mush as she shared the first picture of her son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi. Dia took to her Instagram account and shared a picture of Avyaan in which he was seen wearing a onesie with his little hands creeping out. On his onesie were elephants as the mother-son duo were celebrating World Elephants Day. Sharing the picture Dia wrote, “We are celebrating #WorldElephantDay(sic)” Dia also shared another picture, which was a selfie of herself with a hand on her cheek the actress smiled.

Dia welcomed her son Avyaan in May with her husband Vaibhav Rekhi, but it was a premature birth and he had to be taken care of and was kept under observation in the Neonatal ICU. The actress had taken to her Instagram account and written, “Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU. A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life-threatening. Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensured the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section. As we watch this tiny being, this Zen master in awe and wonder, we learn from him, in all humility, the true meaning of trusting the universe and of parenthood.(sic)”

Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Elephant Day, Dia had posted a picture of herself with some baby elephants. She wrote in the caption, “I will never forget the first time i met these beautiful rescued elephant calves. They were so playful and naughty! Kept opening my shoe laces with their trunks. The time spent with them had me smiling and bursting with love and joy. Let’s celebrate these incredible sentient beings today and every day. On this World Elephant Day pledge your support to protect and secure the #RightOfPassage to save our elephants(sic)”
