Following the success of the award-winning film Amar Singh Chamkila, Diljit Dosanjh and director Imtiaz Ali are teaming up again. The Punjabi star and actor recently shared an update about their ongoing project through their vlog. On Thursday, Diljit posted a short vlog on his Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into his current work in Punjab, where he’s filming with Imtiaz Ali.

In the video, he shares his daily routine while providing behind-the-scenes updates from the set. Shortly after, Diljit also posted images from the movie set and announced that filming has officially wrapped. This marks Diljit’s second collaboration with Imtiaz Ali.

However, details about the project remain under wraps, leaving fans uncertain whether it features Fahad Faasil and Triptii Dimri or is a different film altogether, possibly related to Amar Singh Chamkila.

Second Collab Following The Success Of Chamkila

This new project marks the second collaboration between Diljit Dosanjh and director Imtiaz Ali, coming after their critically acclaimed film Amar Singh Chamkila. The film is a biopic based on the life of the legendary Punjabi musician Chamkila. Parineeti Chopra portrayed Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife, in the film. Known as the “Elvis of Punjab,” Chamkila was renowned for his electrifying performances, bold lyrical style, and significant cultural influence. His tragic assassination alongside Amarjot in 1988 remains one of the greatest losses in Punjabi music history.

Amar Singh Chamkila garnered international recognition, earning two nominations at the International Emmy Awards — for Best Actor (Diljit Dosanjh) and Best TV Movie/Mini-Series. Although it did not win, the nominations brought global attention to Punjabi and Indian storytelling, highlighting Chamkila’s enduring legacy and musical impact.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Entertaining Vlog

In his mini-vlog, Diljit humorously details his daily schedule. He reveals that he wakes up at 4 a.m. for exercise, follows it with a healthy breakfast, and then heads to the film set. He also expresses gratitude to Imtiaz Ali during the clip. This is their second joint project after Amar Singh Chamkila. The vlog highlights Diljit’s playful personality, which fans loved. Several supporters even visited the set to meet him, and Diljit appeared delighted to be filming in Punjab.

Diljit’s Next Project

Next year, Diljit Dosanjh will appear in Border 2, scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, just before Republic Day. The film will also feature Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan. In the movie, Diljit portrays Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, an Indian Air Force officer renowned for his bravery during the 1971 war. Sekhon was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his valour.
