‘Emotional’ Sunny Deol Reveals ‘Papa’ Dharmendra Inspired Him To Play An Army Officer; Says, “JP Dutta Sahab Ke Saath Maine Decide Kiya Tha Ki…”

Sunny Deol, who was present at the launch of the song “Ghar Kab Aaoge” from the upcoming film Border 2, revealed that his decision to do Border was influenced by his father and legendary actor Dharmendra. On Friday, during the event in Jaisalmer, Sunny shared a lesser-known moment of inspiration behind his participation.

At the song launch, Sunny Deol emotionally reminisced about his father, Dharmendra, evoking heartfelt nostalgia as the patriotic track was unveiled. At the event, Sunny said, “Kaise hain aap log? Mein aap ke parivaar ka hissa hi hoon, jab se maine Border ki hain. Maine Border ki thi kyunki maine jab apni papa ki film Haqeeqat dekhi thi, woh mujhe bahut pyaari lagi thi. Tab main bahut chhota tha. Jab main actor bana tab maine taayr kiya ki main bhi papa jaise ek film karunga. JP Dutta sahab ke saath maine baat ki aur hum dono ne decide kiya ki hum iss subject mein film banayenge jo bahut hi pyaara hein so aap sab ke dilon mein basa hua hai.”

The actor added, “Hum itne saare yugghon ko itni confidence denge, unke liye iss tarah ka image banayenge ki picture dekhne ke baad force joining karenge. Aur jab bhi main kahin bhi jaata hoon, itne saare fauji jab milte hain, mujhe yahi kehte hain ki humne aapki picture dekhi, isliye hum aaj force mein hain. Isliye main aapke saath hoon, aur aapka parivaar hoon. Main abhi kuch aur keh nahi paunga, kyunki thoda dimaag mera hila hua hai. Par ek baat zaroor kahunga—Aawaaz kahaan tak pahunchni chahiye? Lahore tak.”
