Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ‘Fanney Khan’ has landed in a legal trouble. The makers had recently released some posters of the film which irked Producer Vashu Bhagnani, as his name was omitted from the posters released. For the same reason, filmmaker slapped a legal notice against his co-producers Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Tseries.

Apart from the aforementioned names, Prernaa Arora, who is no more a part of the film, has also been served a legal notice. Vashu also claims that he not only owns the rights of ‘Fanney Khan’ but also of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’.

Vashu told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, I have sent legal notices to Bhushan, Prernaa and Rakeysh on Monday (25 June) claiming the rights to these films. For Fanney Khan, I have the all-India distribution rights and am entitled to producer’s credit, while in Batti Gul Meter Chalu I have the producer title and a commitment of the all-India distribution of the film.”

He added, “They released the Fanney Khan poster without my consent, but nobody can release the film as the rights are with me.” The legal notice that has been sent says that Vashu has the exhibition, distribution, and exploitation of commercial and noncommercial theatrical rights for all India territories of both the films, as per the report by Mumbai Mirror. The report further states that he also right to perpetuity to 15 percent overflow and the right that the films would not be released without his prior permission, approval, and consent in writing.

Vashu claims that he had initially invested Rs 6 crore-plus in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and around Rs 8 crore in ‘Fanney Khan’. “Prernaa was the producer of these films earlier but since she didn’t have that much money to invest, she borrowed from other filmmakers, including Bhushan and me,” Vashu concluded.
