Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have finally made it official. Nickyanka, as the couple is lovingly referred to by fans, got officially engaged in a traditional roka ceremony at the actress’ residence in the presence of their family members and close friends. The couple looked resplendent, while Priyanka rocked in a radiant yellow chikankari kurta and palazzo designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, and Nick sported a white silk kurta-pajama.

Priyanka and Nick have a sizeable fan following in the West, therefore, their engagement has been covered extensively not only by Indian media but by popular news websites such as People, E! News, USA Today, BBC and many more.

However, a particular show, Live From E! mocked the Nickyanka while reporting their engagement last week.

The three hosts of the show are seen discussing: “Will Priyanka and Nick marry during the holidays?” to which Melanie Bromley says,  “It will happen when Harry and Meghan have a free break in their schedule.” The other host, Morgan Stewart, replied with a look of disbelief, “NOOO! They are not showing up for a Chopra wedding!”, while the third host, Zuri Hall, pointed out how the whole thing seems like a PR stunt, and therefore, her guess is both Chopra and Jonas would want to make news with their marriage and have Harry and Meghan on the guest list.

But major websites did a decent job in covering Chopra-Jonas’ engagement. BBC reported in detail about Nick and Priyanka’s engagement. In their article, they added that the Times magazine named the ‘Quantico’ star as one of the 100 most influential people in the world two years ago, and last year Forbes magazine included her in a list of the world’s 100 most powerful women.

CNN too reported, “Ends weeks of speculation after a huge rock was visible in a photo of Chopra and Indian actress Raveena Tandon that the latter posted on Instagram on Tuesday.”

Most big US and UK media publications like People.com, Foxnews.com and USA Today, Daily Mail UK and many others covered the ceremony. But the most important question discussed by most was whether Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will attend the wedding.

Do you think Meghan Markle will attend Priyanka and Nick’s nuptials? Do let us know.

At present, Nick is back home and Priyanka is busy with the shoot of her next film ‘The Sky Is Pink’.
