Akshay Kumar Golmaal 5 Ajay Devgn Rohit Shetty

Bollywood’s comedy universe is gearing up for a major surprise as Golmaal 5 brings back its signature chaos with a fresh twist. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film continues the legacy of the long-running Golmaal franchise led by Ajay Devgn. This time, the buzz is not just about nostalgia. It is also about a high-profile addition that has grabbed attention across the industry.

Akshay Kumar Charges Rs 40 Crore For 22-Day Shoot In Golmaal 5

According to a source cited by IANS, Akshay Kumar will join the film for a brief but high-value shoot schedule. The source said, “Akshay Kumar is shooting for 18-22 days, and he is getting around 35-40 crs, which is more than Ajay Devgn’s upfront fees because he is on a profit-sharing basis.”

Rohit Shetty had earlier confirmed the next instalment on his birthday in March. Around the same time, reports also hinted at Akshay’s ‘surprise package’ entry into the film. The filmmaker later shared behind-the-scenes updates from the set, where Akshay’s bald look was revealed, adding to the excitement around his role.

Meanwhile, the core cast continues filming. Ajay Devgn recently announced the start of a new schedule in Ooty. He also shared a fun video montage featuring Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu. The ensemble returns to continue the franchise’s trademark comedy and chaos.

About Golmaal 5

The Golmaal franchise started with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006. It expanded into multiple sequels, including Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and Golmaal Again (2017). Over the years, the films have built a consistent comic universe with recurring characters and ensemble humour. The series has also drawn inspiration from stage plays like Harsh Shivsharan’s Marathi play Ghar Ghar and its Gujarati adaptation Aflatoon.

In other updates, Akshay Kumar also teased his upcoming project, Welcome To The Jungle. He shared a still from a dense jungle set and captioned it: “Next… #WelcomeToTheJungle.” The film continues his busy slate of comedy and action projects.

At the same time, Rohit Shetty recently stirred nostalgia by recreating the iconic race car scene from Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. The video featured Arshad Warsi and Sharman Joshi revisiting their famous characters Madhav and Laxman. Shetty captioned it, “Driving down the memory lane! How old were you when you watched the first Golmaal? We promise you’ll relive those happy days very soon…filming in progress.”

Overall, Golmaal 5 is shaping up as a mix of nostalgia and new energy. With Akshay Kumar’s special appearance, the return of the core cast, and Rohit Shetty’s signature comic style, the film continues to build strong anticipation among audiences.
